In October, 2011, my wife and I purchased the 160-acre Leonard Farm, just down the road from where we’ve lived for 30-plus years in west Dummerston, Vermont. Over the coming few years will bring back the working farm, after about a 50-year absence. We will eventually have two houses on the property: ours and a home for the farm family we plan to partner with on the farming operation.
The farm, and the houses here, provide an opportunity to practice what we’ve been preaching for a long time: demonstrating environmentally responsible building practices, sustainable agriculture, resilient design, and strong links to the adjoining village of West Dummerston.
Hi Mr Wilson– My name is Bill Forbes. I work for the VT Assoc of Conservation Districts. I do some work for the NRCS office in Brattleboro. I have a referral to do some wetland determinations regarding some land clearing, I believe. I haven’t been able to get a phone number for you so am trying this approach. If you could give me a call back or an e-mail response that would be great. Thx and hope to hear from you. –Bill
Alex, I’d like to know if you allow visitors to your farm. We are based in PA but we are visiting VT for the Thanksgiving Holiday. You can email me at edullrich@hotmail.com or you can leave a message at 908-642-8779. Ed Ullrich
